Serve With Us!

Jesus modeled service. When we begin to become like him we will begin to serve like him, too.

We want to serve our city and our church family well. There are many opportunities to serve both on Sundays and throughout the week. We are a family and like a family we all must pitch in. Discover all the ways you can care for others.

Hospitality

We love to welcome new people into our church family. To do this well, we need folks to serve in several ways during our Sunday gatherings. From greeting and hosting to coffee service, sign up to help make Journey the most welcoming space it can be.

Journey Kids

It takes a team of volunteers to care for our children at Journey well. Each week we have the opportunity to partner with young parents in continuing to show their children that Jesus loves them and they can learn to follow him, even at an early age. Our children’s ministry also includes several neurodivergent children that benefit each week from faithful and loving volunteers.

Journey Youth

Journey is blessed with some incredible Middle and High School students that meet each Wednesday evening at 6:30pm and participate in other fun trips, retreats, and service opportunities throughout the year. If you are interested in serving families and their students during some of their most formative years, we would love to have you serve in our youth ministry!

Worship Team

These Worship Team provides a worship environment that brings the congregation to the throne of God. Our mission is directly derived from the Church’s mission: “to make disciples; to lead people to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.”

Music is used as a medium to instruct attenders through lyrics and engage followers in praise and worship. Scripture readings, giving, and other activities that take place during a typical service are all used with the intention of glorifying God. The musical style ranges quite a bit from an upbeat, rock band down to an acoustic set. We believe there is no correlation between music style and worship; therefore, we will use any style that effectively reaches our congregation.

Audio/Visual Tech

The A/V Tech Team supports our worship team each week. Whether you feel skilled or not, we’re looking for individuals with and without tech experience. We can train you and if you already like things that light up, eq’ing music or pushing buttons, we have a place for you!

Outreach/Missions

Throughout the year, we will serve our Chattanooga community members in several different ways including Widow’s Harvest, Room in the Inn, the Red Bank Food Pantry, Chattanooga Homeless Coalition and others. If you are interested in serving others outside of Journey, we would love to hear from you!

Administration

A community of people takes a good bit of organization. Do you love spreadsheets and helping everything run smoothly? Each area of Journey could benefit from your help!

Small Group Leader

Small Groups provide greater opportunities for growing in community and as a disciple of Jesus. But they don’t happen without leaders who love people and would like to either facilitate or lead a small group of people. Groups come in different flavors and sizes. Short term groups like Practicing the Way or Spiritual Practices groups may only last a few weeks. Community Groups, BEMA Discussion Groups and more traditional home based Bible Study Groups can last longer. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a small group leader, we would like to talk to you!
